How to reach Mashhad

Mashhad has its own airport (Mashhad International Airport or Shahid Hashemi Nejad Airport), which is the country's second busiest after Tehran Mehrabad Airport and above the famous Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport. It is connected to 57 destinations and has frequent flights to 30 cities within Iran and 27 destinations in the Central Asia, the Middle East, East Asia and Europe.
For those landing at Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airport (the main Iranian international hub) Mashhad can be easily reached by plane, train or car. There are more than 3 different trains in different prices and qualities every day (mostly they leave afternoon or evening) from Tehran to Mashhad. It is about 10~14 hours way.
